What is Life? 紅葉について（About Autumn）

皆様お早うございます。屁理屈大会には、ホトホト困りました。昨夜、サミぃは、親友に会い、そして食事をしました。彼は、多くの科学的知識を有しており、とても面白い奴です。

Good Morning everyone. I have been tired with choplogic discussion about soul. Anyway, I met with my old friend at last night, had dinner, and discussed about various areas of science. He knows wide knowledge about science. He is one of my best friend. 

さて、本日は、「紅葉」についてです。暑かった夏も過ぎ、北海道などでは紅葉の話題も聞かれるようになりました。皆様もご存知のように、紅葉は、四季がある日本で特に顕著に見られる現象のようです。

Today's class is about "autumnal tints: KOUYOU". The hottest summer had been passed, and such news have been watched on TV or some newspaper. As you may know, the KOUYOU is special phenomenon in Japan, which has beautiful four seasons.

落葉樹はまず、（１）葉の付け根に「離層」と呼ばれる蓋を作り、水分が失われるのを防ぎます。そして最終的に（２）葉に残された「アントシアン」「カロテノイド」「タンニン」という色素によって、色がつくそうです。

At first, they construct the separation layer at the root of leaves to prevent the leak of water from their body. And finally, several pigments, which are called as anthocyanin, carotenoid, and tannin make their color of leaves Red, Yellow, and Brown from Green.

紅葉はもちろん、冬を越すための所謂冬眠です。夏の間に蓄えたエネルギーを来年の葉のため、花のために使い、そして、じっと我慢している状態なのです。その結果として、とても美しいものが見られる事を感謝して楽しみましょう。

Of course you know, such change is winter sleep of plant. They use the nutrients for leaf and flower at next spring. They are waiting for the spring like us. So please enjoy the colorful magic of plants with great acknowledgment for Life.

What is Life? 種とは（What is species?）

みなさま、お早うございます。秋も本番ですね。さて、ここ数日、色々忙しくて更新できませんでした。本日からまた再開します。本日は、生物学ではとても重要な「種とは何か？」についてです。

Good morning everyone. I had some important meeting in these days. So, I am very sorry. But I shall start again What is Life?. Today's class is about "species", which is one of the most important theme in biology.

みなさんは、犬に色々な種類があることをご存知ですよね？チワワのように、小さく可愛い犬もいれば、セントバーナードのように、大きく強い犬もいます。でも、そのどちらも「犬」なのです。もともとは同じような形だったはずです。でも、人間の「品種改良」によって、体が変わってきたのです。

Do you know that there are many types of dog, for example Chihuahua (very small and pretty), and Saint Bernard (very big and strong)? As you may know, they are "dog". The origin of them was same like a wolf. But by the breeding for hundreds years long, their shape has been altered.

「種」とはなんでしょうか？生物学的な定義では、次世代を連続的に残す事ができる生き物ということになります。つまり、馬とロバの混血であるラバとか、ライオンと虎の混血である、レオポンなどは、次世代を残せないので、それぞれの両親は、同じ種ではないことになります。

Do you know "What it species"? Biologically, species means that the life which can produce next generation repeatedly. Because Leopon, and Mule, which are child between Lion and Tiger, and Horse and Donkey, respectively can not produce child repeatedly, the parents are not same species.

ではヒトについてはどうでしょうか？ヒトは、アフリカで1500万年前にチンパンジーと分かれた形で、この世に生まれ、今に至ります。肌の色や、様々な習慣が異なる別種とも思える様々な「人種」がいますが、みんな同じ「種」です。

So please think about us "human being". We appeared in Africa 15 million years ago from chimpanzee. We have various color of skin and many rules and religiousness. But we are same species now. 

さらに、ヒト以外の霊長類が48本の染色体を持ち、私たちは46本の染色体を持っている事を知っています。しかし、私たちは本当に別な種なのでしょうか？同じ種から分かれたはずです。嘗ては同じだったのです。

And also I know that they has 48 chromosomes. On the other hand, we have 46. Are not we other species? The origin of us must be same, and divided each other.

そこで、興味深い記事を見つけました。それが、オリバー君です。彼は一時は47本の染色体を持っていると考えられていました。

I have found the interesting news about Mr Oliver. He was thought that he had 47 chromosome at that time.

それと、ボノボも気になります。200万年前に何が起きたのでしょうか？

And, I am very interesting about "bonobo". What was happened between them and us at 2 million years ago?

What is Life? たましいとは？（What is Soul?）

皆様、お早うございます。こうして朝の挨拶が出来ることが、どれほどかけがえのないものなのかを実体験で理解しました。それは ＼(^_＼)ソレハ(／_^)／コッチニオイトイテ、今日は「たましいとは」に迫ります。

Good morning everyone. How are you today. To do such greeting each other is treasure of life, as you may not know. Anyway, it should be  ＼(^_＼)ソレハ(／_^)／コッチニオイトイテ. Today, I focus on the Life. Do you feel me like Steve Jobs? It's just a joke (^_^).

皆様はたましいの存在を信じますか？生き物博士のサミぃがこんなことを言うのもおかしな気がするかも知れませんが、あなたも私も生き物ですので、それはあるときには考えるべきでしょう。色々なことを考えることも秋の優れた点です。

Do you believe the existence of Life (Soul)? Because I am a biologist, you may think it funny. But you and I are living. So you should think it yes. It is autumn now. We can think, play, read, eat, drive, meet. We can everything, because we are alive.

そこで、私は先日、「がん宣告マニュアル感動の結論」という本を紹介しました。これは死期が間近に迫ったとき、あるいはそうなる前に、そうなったときにどうするかを考えるとても大切なことが書かれた、素晴らしい本です。しかし、幸か不幸か、私たちの多くは、今、その状態にありません。ですから、考えるべきは、「今」なのです。

At 19th of this August, I introduced a book, the title is "Manual of adjudication for the patient of cancer, which leads to the Heaven". The book was written for the family having patient of cancer in order to make them discuss about Life and Heaven. The book is one of the best for me. Anyway, most of us are healthy not patients in deeply disease. So we are not thinking about Life, Soul, and the Heaven.

Therefore we should think about it "Now".

何度も言っていることですが、サミぃは宗教家ではございません。宗教を強制することはど致しません。本日、もう１つの本をご紹介致します。それが「感覚で世界を捉える」の作者、田島鉄也様の、＜野生＞論です。

I had showed for many time to explain that I am not a religious person. I do not enforce you the religion. Today, I must introduce one more book. The title is ＜野生＞論. The book was written by Tetsuya Tajima as a owner of the blog 「感覚で世界を捉える」.

この本は、実際に読んでいただければお分かりかとは思いますが、まずは、自分が世界の一部であることを出発点として書かれております。人生を見つめ直すこの時期に、お勧めの一冊です。アマゾンでも売ってますが、ご本人から買われた方が宜しいかと存じます。

I recommend you read the book in this season. At the first, the story is started that we are a part of the world. You can buy it from Amazon, but please get it from him directly.

What is Life? こめかみについて（About temple）

阪神タイガースの自力優勝が消えましたが、サミぃは他所のチームを負けろなど言ったことありません。自らの応援するチームの勝利を期待して、そこで活躍した選手の引退に涙する。そして、その労をねぎらう、当然のことです。

Yesterday, the Tigers lost the game, which means the team can not be champion in this year. But I have not said that other team will be needed to lost games. I love Tigers in serious, and show my acknowledgement for old player, who put off his suits for play. It is not so difficult, I think so. How do you think about it?

さて、本日は、「こめかみ」についてです。たくさん噛むと痛くなるあの部分です。なぜ「こめかみ」って言うか知っていますか？先日、お米屋さんから転職したドライバーが運転するタクシーに乗りました。彼が言うには、「昔の人は、戦や仕事でご飯を炊くことが出来ないときは、玄米を持ち歩き、それを噛んで食べていたんです。それで、噛みすぎて痛くなるので、そこをこめかみと呼ぶようになったんです」と。面白いでしょ？

Today is short about "KOMEKAMI" in Japanese language. Komekami is temple, near your eyes. When you bite or chaw so much, you feel some pain or ache at the region. Do you know why the region is called as Komekami? Several days ago, I used the taxi at Kawasaki. The taxi driver made classchange of his work from rice seller to taxi driver. His explained the origin of the word "KOMEKAMI". His explanation is following. Hundreds years ago, people were carrying brown rice without polishing as  food on work or war. They ate it as food with much chewing. After eating brown rice, they felt some pain at Komekami, because it is called as "KOME (rice) KAMI (chawing)". This is the origin about Komekami. It was very interesting for me. Is it nice?

What is Life? 変態について（その６）Metamorphosis No.6

阪神タイガースの自力優勝の可能性が弱まってきたようです。矢野捕手も引退されることを聞き、残念ですが、お疲れさまでしたと申し上げたいです。

Can the Tigers be a campion in this year? Mr Yano as the greatest catcher of the team terminates his Life as a player of Tigers. It is very sad news for me, but please come back as a manager of the team, I wish. Thank you very much Mr Yano. I respect him, are't you?

さて、本日はいよいよ「変態」シリーズのクライマックスです。皆様を先カンブリア時代に連れて行かなければなりません。化石による証拠から、現代の全ての動物門が出現したとされている「カンブリアの大爆発」によって、多くの種が誕生しました。皆さんもテレビなどでご覧になったでしょう。アノマノカリスなどです。

Today is the climax of this course about metamorphosis. We have to go to Precambrian period to image the evolution of animals. There are many evidence about the arising of most phyla in the planet by paleontological study. You should know the cambrian explosion as the birth of animals. Anomalocaris, you know? Did you see it on TV?

いくつかの動物の化石はこれ以前にもわずかには見つかっているのですが、固い殻や骨がある生き物はこの時代に誕生したようなのです。EH. Davidsonはここに疑問を持っていたのです。そのときにいきなり多量の化石が見つかるのには理由があるからだと考えたのです。それが"set aside cells"と「変態」なのです。

Anciently, some kinds of species were found as fossil. But they might obtain their hard shell, skin, and bone at the period. EH Davidson had problem about why they arose suddenly. His idea is the "set aside cells" and "metamorphosis" as strategies.

つまりこういうことです。嘗て生き物は変態をしないでプランクトンとして生き、そして卵を産んでいた。だから大きくなれずに、化石にも残らなかった。しかし、あるとき、体の中に"set aside cells"を生み出し、何度も細胞分裂を行い、変態し、そして、大きな体と殻を持ち、化石に残る生き物になった。そう言っているのです。

In conclusion, all animal were living as plankton, produced egg for making next generation. So they have not been found as fossil. But at the explosion, they acquired the biggest strategy, which were "set aside cells" and "metamorphosis". They could be Big by multiple cell division, have shell and bone, and be remained as fossil. He said so in the article, I understood so.
